The Pietermaritzburg MTB Festival, which takes place over Easter weekend, will kick off with round two of the Spur KZN Schools MTB Series at Cascades MTB Park on Friday, April 3.

The series targets primary to high school students who show a keen interest in mountain biking at a competitive level.
The first leg of the series featured 193 participants, with over 200 expected for the next event.
“Your age determines the amount of laps that you do and technicalities of the track that you do. At school level, they will be competing ultimately for School Colours in mountain biking,” said event organiser Ewan Cochran.
The KZN Series forms part of the National Spur Mountain Bike League and selected individuals and High Schools will be chosen to represent KZN Schools at the National School MTB Final at Bekker School in October.
