Xterra stars Stuart Marais, Matthew Daneel and Bradley Weiss will team up for the first Isuzu MTB Festival Cape Town on September 5 and 6.

The trio will take on the 3km Team Relay, which forms part of the festival at Meerendal Wine Estate.

Event manager Alexa Cunningham said the off-road triathletes would be tested on a fast, flat route, which also featured a few surprises en route.
Marais said he and his fellow athletes always played to win.
Weiss said it wasn’t often that elite Xterra athletes had the opportunity to race as a team.
“I am really looking forward to it and can’t wait to brainstorm the optimal team race strategy.”
Daneel added that it would be a whole new dynamic as he was used to racing against Marais and Weiss, and not with them.
The Isuzu MTB Festival Cape Town caters for mountain bikers of all ages and skill levels.
On the Saturday, the racing kicks off with the Enduro Ride, Kiddies Trail Event and Team Relay, followed by the Off-Road Academy Experience and the Kids MTB over 500m, 1.5km and 5km. The day wraps up with a skills coaching session.
On the Sunday, the main MTB Challenge events – over 35km and 60km – and the 15km Fun Ride roll out.
