Cyclists looking to ride the Cape Town Cycle Tour can express their interest when the new online entry application process opens at 1pm on September 9.
Would-be participants will have until September 28 to submit their applications, whereafter entries will be randomly assigned on a lottery-style basis.

Successful candidates will receive email confirmation in the first week of October and have another month to secure their entry by making payment before October 26.
Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust director David Bellairs said this was the first time entries would not be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
“We believe this new system will ensure a more equitable and inclusive process for all prospective riders.
“We want to remind applicants that they do not need to rush to be the first in line as soon as the portal opens. Instead, they are able to apply for an entry at their convenience during the allocated period.”
The event takes place on March 6 next year and the field will be limited to 35 000 participants.
No corporate group entries will be available but those riders are encouraged to support one of the listed charities that will have entries available.
