MTN-Qhubeka’s Steve Cummings secured his second top-10 finish in a Grand Tour time-trial this season when he finished ninth at La Vuelta a España on Wednesday.
Giant Alpecin’s Tom Dumoulin blitzed through the 39km course to take the stage win and the overall race lead.

British star Cummings said the course was not overly technical.
“It was just a power course really but it was kind of hard to judge because it was uphill to start and then headwind, so no real rest.
“You had to put a bit more effort going out than coming back but not too much because it was still a long way to go.
Cummings finished 10th in the opening time-trial at the Tour de France earlier this year.
