Andrew Hill finished second in the Sunday Tribune Jeep Hill2Hill mountain bike marathon to secure his fourth Quattro ROAG Series title in KwaZulu-Natal at the weekend.

Brendon Davids (Kargo Pro MTB) was the winner of the 100km race from Hilton to Hillcrest but it was not enough to unseat Hill (TIB Insurance) as the overall series victor.

Hill said he had had his fair share of luck this season but that putting in the hard work had paid dividends.
“I’m not really one for records but winning four series titles in a row is something that I guess could take some beating in years to come due to the tremendous depth of talent that continues to come through the mountain biking ranks in KZN.”
With just one more race, the Lake Eland Classic, remaining in the nine-leg series, no other rider is close enough to loosen Hill’s grasp on the R22 000 winner’s cheque.
In the women’s series, Jeannie Dreyer took her fifth victory in the series to cement her top spot on the leader board. Although Natalie Bergstrom (Jowett Cycles) has a mathematical chance of catching her, it is unlikely that anyone will steal the series from Dreyer.
She (USN/Hi-Tec) broke away early in the Hill2Hill race to take yet another uncontested win.
