Eight riders from Africa’s first Pro-Continental team MTN-Qhubeka will turn out for their respective countries at the UCI Road World Championships in Richmond, USA, this week.
Tour of Britain winner Edvald Boasson Hagen will focus on the elite road race for Norway, while Tyler Farrar will do likewise for the host nation.

South Africans Jaco Venter and Reinardt Janse van Rensburg will hope to do their country proud in the road race, while their fellow countryman Jayde Julius will represent SA in the under-23 road race.
Janse van Rensburg said worlds was always a highlight of the season and that the course would suit the South Africans.
“We will be looking to a top result and I think we have a great chance of doing something special.”
Another African Youcef Reguigui will represent Algeria during the road race.
Their teammate and Eritrean U23 rider Merhawi Kudus will be the only MTN-Qhubeka rider to participate in the U23 time-trial, while Brit Steve Cummings is the only team member to do both the elite time-trial and road race.
