South Africa’s top track cyclists will gather for the rescheduled National Omnium Track Championships at the Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town on November 4 and 5.

As a demanding specialist discipline, comprising six events, it takes place separately from the national track champs.
The events are the scratch race, individual pursuit, elimination, time trial, flying lap and points race.
The three-day interprovincial and grand prix series follows from November 6 to 8.
In the interprovincial component, the best track riders in all age groups compete in mixed teams in the team sprint, team pursuit, 1 500m race and the devil takes the hindmost elimination race.
The grand prize is the President’s Cup, which was scooped by the Western Cape last year.
The grand prix sees riders competing as individuals to earn points in the sprint, keirin, points and scratch races, which will also help them qualify for national and international races in the future.
