The race is one of the key preparation events for the Absa Cape Epic and organisers have upped the prize money as part of their commitment to participants who are serious about racing.
“We have decided to build it into a race that caters properly for the fit, conditioned racers and the prize money will certainly be a draw card,” said Carel Herholdt of organising company Dryland Event Management.
“In keeping with our commitment to help grow women’s racing, the prize money for overall placings for men and women – both team and solo – is equal,” said Herholdt.
He said there would also be prize money for veterans, masters and mixed racing teams.
The event starts at Kaleo Guest Farm in the Western Cape’s Kouebokkeveld region.
