Africa’s only Pro-Continental cycling team has added double Australian time-trial champion Cameron Meyer’s name to the list of new signings.

Team MTN-Qhubeka, which will be renamed Team Dimension Data from next year, made the announcement in the wake of five other new signings to the team roster for the upcoming season.
27-year-old Meyer has spent the last four seasons plying his trade under the banner of Australian team Orica-Greenedge. Besides wearing the national time-trial crown twice, he also secured the Santos Tour Down Under and Herald Sun Tour titles.
“I am very excited to be racing with Team Dimension Data next season. They have had unbelievable results at the biggest races and are moving ahead quickly.
“I am really looking forward to being a part of their future success,” said Meyer.
“My main motivation for joining this professional racing team was not only the pride I would feel being an ambassador on the bike but also the pride of involvement in the successful work for the Qhubeka Charity.”
Meyer’s participation in eight Grand Tours, and the role he played in securing two Grand Tour team time-trial stage victories, means he brings a wealth of experience with him when he joins his new outfit next year.
In recent weeks Africa’s team has bolstered its ranks for the 2016 season with the signings of Nathan Haas, 26, Omar Fraile, 25, Bernhard Eisel, 34, Mark Renshaw, 32, and former world champion Mark Cavendish, 30.
Just one more rider announcement is expected to round out the team roster following Meyer’s signing.
