Professional services provider PricewaterhouseCoopers has confirmed that it will power The Munga mountain bike race from December 2 to 7.
Billed as “the toughest race on earth”, the Munga takes riders on a non-stop journey of over a thousand kilometres from Bloemfontein to the Cape Winelands.
PwC has come on board as the title sponsor of the race, which will see 200 solo riders pit themselves against the elements without the advantage of outside support or teammates.
According to PwC’s clients and markets development leader James du Preez, the partnership was a natural fit as both the sponsor and event were focused on engaging communities in a sustainable and effective manner.
“I think it’s crazy to want to cycle that far non-stop, but when you look at what their long-term vision is, it’s a partnership we simply had to be involved in,” said Du Preez.
