South African BMX champion Kyle Dodd took the overall honours at the second African Continental BMX Championships in Harare, Zimbabwe, on Saturday.

Team Jeep rider Dodd took the double when he also won the Africa BMX Challenge title on Sunday.
“The event was awesome, it couldn’t have gone any better for me,” said Dodd, who had suffered the effects of a lingering wrist injury sustained earlier in the season.
“I had no issues with my wrist – it felt really strong and the injury had no effect on my training or performance,” he added.
Winning four out of four races on the Saturday earned Dodd some critical UCI points to help South Africa with their bid for Olympic qualification next year.
Sunday’s unrelated Africa Challenge saw Dodd walking away with a number of trophies.
