Yellow jersey wearer Jean Bosco Nsengimana attacked in the closing 10 kilometres to take the win in front of an adoring home crowd on stage three of the Tour of Rwanda from Kigali to Musanze on Wednesday.
Nsengimana, who also won the prologue, rode away from teammate Patrick Byukusenge with four kilometres to go to take the stage and consolidate his overall lead of more than a minute over his nearest rivals.

His Rwandan teammates Byukusenge and Joseph Areruya finished second and third respectively.
“This is a great day for cycling in my country,” said Nsengimana.
“We are growing more and more and today we managed to take our positions for the rest of the Tour. We are on the right way.”
The fourth stage from Musanze to Nyanza features four category one climbs.
