Hosts Western Cape put on a lightning fast display of track cycling at the Bellville Velodrome to win the second round of the Interprovincial and Grand Prix Series on November 6 and 8.

The Gauteng provincial team finished second, with Free State claiming the bottom step of the overall podium.
Cycling South Africa’s track cycling commissioner, Johan Smith, said organisers had decided to combine the Interprovincial and Grand Prix events as it ensured the strongest possible combination of riders.
“By having these track meetings at the same time, we are able to see some of the country’s greatest riders who are there to represent their provinces, and then go on to compete for individual glory,” said Smith.
The third and final round of the competition will be held in Gauteng in a fortnight’s time.
