They will support Team Bestmed-ASG with the latest Garmin Sport products as well as professional training, a warranty service and technical support through their branches and call centre.
“We are passionate about sport and our partnership with Team Bestmed-ASG gives us the opportunity to support one of the best women’s teams in the country,” said NavWorld CEO Roan Rossouw.
“As an exclusive Garmin retail and distribution partner and the only authorised service provider in the country, we will help to keep the team performing at their best.”
Rossouw said the riders have been given a Garmin Edge 520 bike computer and a Forerunner 230 watch for training off the bike. “This technology will support the team in their training programmes and during the racing season.”
As part of the partnership deal, the team’s bikes and other equipment will be kept current and they will have access to any services they require.
“They will also benefit from the latest technology when it hits the shops,” said Rossouw. He said the team would receive up-to-date training on the devices so that they get the most from Garmin’s technology.
Promoting brand awareness was also an important aspect of the sponsorship, Rossouw added.
“We are planning to create a lot of content around the team for our digital and social media platforms. We want to demonstrate to our customers what is possible with the right technology.”
Rossouw added that the team’s coach would be able to monitor the riders remotely to ensure that they train and perform optimally. “This is convenient, as the riders are usually scattered across the country.”
