The funeral of Springbok motorsport and cycling legend Jan Hettema will be held in Pretoria on Wednesday at 3pm.

The service will take place at the Methodist Church in Murray Street, Brooklyn.
The 82-year-old Legend of the Pedal was killed last week when a gang of robbers broke into his house on his smallholding at Boschkop near Pretoria and fatally shot him.
There will be a guard of honour by Hettema’s former cycling colleagues at the service to remember one of the South Africa’s most versatile sportsmen.
Besides representing South Africa on the cycling track at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, Hettema won the SA Rally Championships five times.
He is survived by his wife Elsa and children Shaun and Helena.
