Entries for the 2017 Cape Town Cycle Tour open at 1pm on Wednesday, organisers announced today.
The 40th Cape Town Cycle Tour will reverting to its traditional date – the second Sunday in March.
Organisers also said the allocation of general entries for 2017 would be increased by 5 000, while charities would be allocated 2 000.
The application window will remain open until 4pm on Tuesday, August 23.
Details of the phased application process are:
Apply for a general entry: August 17 to 23. Indicate your interest in applying at www.capetowncycletour.com and update your details at the same time.
Entry confirmation: During the week of August 29 successful applicants will receive confirmation e-mails from the Cape Town Cycle Tour events office. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified and invited to enter via a supporting charity or by means of the official substitution process in February 2017.
Securing an entry: Successful applicants will have until 1pm on September 5 to pay. Local general entries cost R510 per rider while PPA members pay R480.
Riders who have ridden 21 or more races will be invited to enter from August 15 to September 5.
International entrants may enter anytime from August 29 to February 24, 2017.
