The much-anticipated route launch for next year’s Cape Epic will take place in Cape Town tomorrow.
The 14th edition of the eight-day race promises to be as challenging as ever. According to the website, around 1 300 mountain bikers can expect to face roughly 700km with 15 000m of accumulated climbing.
Germany’s Karl Platt became the second five-time winner last year after triumphing alongside Bulls team-mate Urs Huber.
Switzerland’s Christoph Sauser, who is now semi-retired, is the other rider to achieve the feat.
The 2017 Cape Epic takes place from March 19 to 26.
