Entries for the Liberty Waterberg MTB Encounter, taking place from June 9 to 11, has opened.
The race covers a total of 172km and 2 774m of vertical ascent over three days in Limpopo.
For the 2017 edition the route links up the Sondela Resort with the Elements Estate in Bela Bela.
The first stage runs from Sondela to Elements over 62km (800m ascent), the second is a cloverleaf at Elements covering 51km (1054m ascent) and the third runs back from Elements to Sondela over 59km (920m ascent).
Entries are limited to 150 x two-rider teams.
The Waterberg Encounter is the second of two events in the series. The first is the Winelands Encounter which takes place in the Cape Winelands from April 21 to 23.
