The Knysna Cycle Tour will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year when the event kicks off on July 8.
With the help of the Knysna Rotary organising committee the event will be marked by introducing a number of new routes and races.

One of the events to be launched will be a 30km e-bike route, the first electric bike race in the country.
“We understand that this will be the first electric bike race in the country and we are hoping to attract e-bikers from all over South Africa,” said Race Director Elwin Thompson.
In addition to this, the popular 109km and 50km road races will now also include a category for mountain bikes and will also see the popular Forest Family Dam Ride on July 9 split into two events: a 20km and a 30km ride.
These will take the form of guided fun rides and will not be timed.
The event currently consists of four popular events – MTB events, road races, the SPUR Children’s Tour, and the Forest Family Dam Ride.
