“After the last league, we had several discussions with local racing cyclists as to the preferred format for the upcoming league,” said PPA CEO Robert Vogel. “It was agreed that racing in the League will be category-based.
Categories will be divided according to age and seeding. The first will be for men 18 years and older with a seeding of A or B.
The second category will consist of B or C seeded men and, should the maximum capacity not have been reached, could included D seeded riders and women who are 18 years or older.
The third category will be for U17 men and junior girls, with the fourth category being for U15 and U13 riders.
“We look forward to seeing some strong racing in all the categories,” said Vogel.
Points will be accumulated throughout the League. The top three in each category will receive podium medals and more once the event concludes in November.
