The furious pace of Cindy Theunissen and Sarah van Heerden have race organisers questioning whether the pair will break the 1000 Miler race record.
The two, who passed through Loxton yesterday afternoon, have gone from strength to strength as the days have progressed and are set to deliver a final push for the finish at Big Bay in Bloubergstrand.
The current record stands at six days and 14 hours, something the women would be pleased to beat.
At the other end of the spectrum, John Goddard rode through the night to make the 6am cut-off in Colesburg, roughly 300km behind the leaders.
Jo Mackenzie and Matthew Myburg spent the night in Richmond, only to have Mackenzie set off without her partner. Myburg withdrew from the race due to an elbow injury.
