Andrew Hill became the first male rider to successfully defend his title at the Scottburgh MTB Race, which took place from the Scottburgh main beach, South of Durban, yesterday.
It was a close fought battle between Hill and Tyronne White as the winner was decided by a sprint finish.

“It is an honour to have been able to win this race two years in a row, and to have my name on a trophy that has Burry Stander’s name on it is an even greater privilege,” said Hill.
Jedson Toomes finished two minutes behind the leading men to complete the podium.
In the women’s race it was Bianca Haw that took top honours in a completely different race to the men’s. Like Hill, Haw secured her second title as she finished 10 minutes ahead of Hayley Smith. Desiree Chantal Verwey finished a further eight minutes off the pace to take the finish podium position.
