Centurion Vaude’s Daniel Geismayr and Jocken Käss took the overall lead as they won the second stage of the Swiss Epic, which finished in Leukerbad in Switzerland yesterday.
The pair finished two minutes ahead of Texpa-Simplon’s Christoph Soukup and Michael Stünzi and a further three minutes ahead of BiXS’ Konny Looser and Oliver Zurbrügg.
The win gave the German and Austrian team a two minute lead over BiXS.
Meerendal CBC’s Esther Süss and Jennie Stenerhag extended their lead in the women’s category as a mechanical slowed Ariane Lüthi and Alice Pirard’s progress in the 70km stage. They now have more than 10 minutes cushion between them and the Spur – Wallonie riders, who finished second in the stage.
Scott Womens – R’adys’ Cornelia Hug and Florence Darbellay completed the day’s top three and are third overall.
