Entries for the 40th Cape Town Cycle Tour officially open next week once deadlines for preferential entries have passed.
General and international entries will be available on the event’s website from 1pm on September 20.
Entries will work on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be capped at 35 000 participants or the following on Wednesday 4pm (whichever comes first).
During the week, confirmation emails will be sent to successful applicants and they will have until 4pm on September 27 to make payment to secure their entry.
Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified.
At a press conference held last month, it was announced that those who entered this year’s even would be able to enter for next year at fixed 2017 rates.
Another major announcement was that the 2018 event will see the race start at a new venue after extreme weather led to cancellation of the event earlier this year.
Riders will start from Castle Street at the Grand Parade Precinct on March 11.
