Matthys Beukes rode to his second win at the final round of the National MTB Series, which took place in Kaapsehoop in Mpumalanga today.
The PYGA EuroSteel rider got off to a strong start when the made the most of a tough first day, easily conquering the three major climbs of the day. He again proved to be in top form when he beat teammate and series leader Philip Buys by one minute. The top three remained unchanged from yesterday and Buys finished second, followed by BCX’s HB Kruger.
Dormakaba’s Candice Lill proved once again to be too strong for the women’s competition as she finished first in 2:44:45, five minutes ahead of Shelleigh Terlouw. Yolandi du Toit, a further minute off the pace, finished third.
