Dean Wortmann won the main 40km race at the Gooderson Leisure MTB race held at the Gooderson Monks Cowl Golf Resort in Central Drakensburg yesterday.
Wortmann finished in 1:43:24, just over six minutes before the second-placed Sanele Shabalala. Grant Muller rounded out the men’s podium in 1:58:53.

Punching above her weight, Andrea de Boer placed third overall when she won the women’s category in 1:57:11. Finishing 23rd overall, Sarah Ryan completed the race in 2:36:39 to claim second spot for the women, while Olivia Reitz completed the podium at third.
Kevin Clleland and Kate van den Berg won the men’s and women’s 20km races at the same event respectively.
