Chris Jooste triumphed at the first Tshwane Classic when he won the 98km men’s elite race at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria today.

Jooste beat Pro Touch’s Jayde Julius and Dimension Data’s Kent Main in 2:12:57.
The 22-year-old made his move on the first major climb of the day at roughly 50km into the race.
He rode with seven other riders until Van Jenkins Drive, approximately 87km into the race before Jooste broke away at the top of the climb.
Team Clover’s Yzette Oelofse won the 98km women’s elite race in 2:41:09, just milliseconds ahead of Demacon’s Carla Oberholzer.
