To conclude the year, the 15th edition of the Grootbrak Grabadoo mountain-bike race in George took place at the Great Brak River on December 30.
The race saw a total 1025 riders take to the trails to steer off 2017.
Participants from all corners of South Africa took part, as well as an assortment from Dover, England, and Namibia.
Riders could choose between four distances, namely: 15km, 36km, 53km and the main 71km route. Due to the high number of riders and the nature of the race, times were not taken and positions not recorded.
