Shameeg Salie has joined Team Randwater-Transnet Cycling.
Salie, who won the Langebaan Country Estate Cycle Challenge two months ago, will ride in Randwater-Transnet’s colours for the first time when the Mpumalanga Cycle Tour starts on January 13.

The 22-year-old Salie, who rode for Team Alpha Body Works last year and for Team Dimension Data Continental previously, joins Thando Zothe at Randwater-Transnet.
“Congratulations and welcome to Team Randwater-Transnet, Shameeg Sale!” Zothe wrote on Twitter after the announcement. “It’s going to be a great year riding with you at last.”
Salie said in a team statement he was looking forward to riding for a cause greater than himself.
He added: “Team Randwater-Transnet’s link to the development of youngsters and [the] support they provide to individuals beyond the bike, are crucial.
“The fact that they [the team] place so much emphasis on the educational achievements of their riders impresses me a lot.”
Salie said he was looking forward to working alongside “a great bunch of riders” against whom, but not with, he had raced.
