Delko-Marseille Provence’s Brenton Jones won stage two of the Tropicale Amissa Bongo, which took riders on a 176km journey from Ndende to Fougamou in Gabon yesterday.
The Frenchman won the final bunch sprint in 4:03:25 and was closely followed by Wilier-Triestina’s Luca Pacioni (Italy) and Bike Aid’s yellow Lucas Castensen (Germany).

Jones lauded great teamwork for his stage victory.
“The team worked perfectly together to place me well,” he said. “It went very quickly in the final stretch, but I enjoyed the technical parts of the race.
This is his first win in Africa, Jones said. “I ran once on the continent before; in Cape Town, South Africa.
“I’m really happy with the result,” he added.
