Rwandan Joseph Areruya emerged victorious on stage four of the Tropicale Amissa Bongo in Mitzic, Gabon, yesterday.

Areruya, who rides for Rwanda, completed the 182km race from Ndjolé in 4:25:10. He was followed by Belarus’ Ilia Koshevoy (Wilier Triestina-Selle It) and Germany’s Nikodemus Holler (Bike Aid).
The 21-year-old said he just focused on his own race during the stage.
“It was very difficult but I managed my efforts well and felt strong today.”
He now leads the general classification with a time of 14:53:21, followed by Holler and Frenchman Damien Gaudin of Direct Energie.
