American Jeremiah Bishop won the men’s 60km feature in stage two of the Simonsberg Contour MTB Stage Race in Stellenbosch today.
He beat stage one winner Czech Kristian Hynek and Austrian Alban Lakata in second and third respectively.
Erik Kleinhans was the first South African home, finishing in fourth.
Hynek won the overall stage race, followed by Bishop in second and Lakata in third. Kleinhans finished in fifth behind Belgian Frans Claes.

Ariane Luthi won the women’s category in stage two and on the overall standings.
Luthi beat Silvio Büsser and Esther Suss in second and third respectively.
Jennie Stenerhag, who came fourth in stage two, finished second overall, followed by Suss, who rounded out the podium.
