Kristian Hynek won the men’s race on stage one of the Simonsberg Contour MTB Stage Race in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, today.
Hynek beat Jeremiah Bishop and Alban Lakata in the 60km event.

The women’s victory went to defending champion Ariane Luthi. She was followed by Jennie Stenerhag, who secured the Queen of the Mountain’s jersey, and Ester Suss.
Erik Kleinhans won the King of the Mountain’s jersey.
The 40km men’s event was won by Juan Louw, followed by Guy de Cafmeyer and Morne van Greunen.
Nikki Biesheuvel took the honours in the women’s race, with Karla Fletcher and Robyn Tully in second and third respectively.
