Vera Adrian has left Team dormakaba SA to compete in Europe, the team announced today.
“This was one of the biggest races in the world and to leave with a podium position felt really great,” Adrian said. “It has been wonderful racing for a sponsor that supported me so well.
“There was always a good vibe in the team and all of us received everything we needed to be as competitive as possible.
“It is going to be really challenging to find a replacement for the good environment I am leaving behind.”
Adrian will begin a regular job in May – in Switzerland – and she admitted that balancing work and cycling may pose a challenge.
“Working means there will be less time for training and recovery, but I’m looking forward to balancing the physical with the mental.”
Team managing director Shaun Frayne said he was said to see her go.
“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Vera but we wish her well with her incredibly exciting journey to come,” Frayne said.
“She was a mainstay of our team and it was a real privilege to have her race in our colours,” he added.
