Sam Gaze and Annika Langvad won the Champions Race in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, yesterday evening.
New Zealander Gaze beat Frenchman Maxime Marotte and Swiss Andri Frischknecht into second and third respectively in their 35-minute and one-lap race.
Gaze has now racked up three wins – Cape Town Cycle Tour MTB Challenge, UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Stellenbosch and Champions Race – and one second place – Cape Town Cycle Tour – in the space of 10 days.

Riding for 20 minutes plus a lap, Langvad, who won the elite women’s contest at the world cup event in Stellenbosch on Saturday, won the women’s race ahead of Swiss Alexander Keller and American Kate Courtney in second and third respectively.
