The 2018 season of the National MTB Series has been cancelled, organisers Advendurance announced yesterday.
According to the statement, they were forced to call the series off after a title sponsor could not be secured in what they called “tough economic times”.

At the same time, Advendurance announced plans for a “more compact” series next year, which, at this stage, will span five events over two days each.
The cancellation means South Africa’s top national series will be omitted from the race calendar for the first time since 2002 in what is a tough blow for the country’s pro mountain bikers.
The 2017 series was won by Matthys Beukes and Candice Lill.
