Grant Watson won the opening stage of the Cradle Traverse Two-Day Experience at the Avianto Clubhouse in Muldersdrift, Gauteng, today.
Watson finished the 36km solo men’s mountain bike race in 2:15:11. He beat Anton de Leeuw (3:13:08) and Michael Westlake (3:46:28).

Adele Westlake secured the women’s victory in 3:46:28 ahead of Annerie Olivier (3:48:06).
Flower Power’s Braam Blom and Bernard Blom won the men’s teams event in 3:54:51.
Ian Martin and Jillian Jacobs of Coach One (2:30:56) claimed first place in the mixed category. Jackwills’ Jackey and Willie Theron finished second in 3:19:06 with Rule Six’s Francois and Amanda Theron rounding out the podium in 3:52:22.
