Continental Tyres’ Andrew Stockwell and Bryce Munro increased their lead when they won stage two of the Cradle Traverse mountain bike event at the Avianto Clubhouse in Muldersdrift, Gauteng, today.
Stockwell and Munro completed the 45km (the longest stage of the event) in 1:56:55, finishing ahead of MpactAsems’ Jandri Ferreira and Franso Steyn (1:58:50). They were followed by OTR’s Dewald Lotter and Stephen Fowler (2:07:12).

Silverback’s Michelle and Yolande de Villiers (2:43:24) also pulled off another victory in the team race for the women. Teresa Coetzee and Isabel Moolman (Netwerk 24) came in second in 2:59:55, followed by Mari Schmidt and Madeleine Stumpf (Last Ladies) in 4:13:20.
Ben-Melt Swanepoel and Yolandi du Toit of Merida won the mixed race in 2:18:31, beating Michaele and Timo Cooper (2:22:40) and Mpact’s Wouter Heunis and Karla Stumpf (2:23:38).
Grant Usher won the solo men’s event in 1:57:37 with Steven Bark (2:02:18) and Glen Ramsden (2:05:08) behind him.
Amy McDougall took the women’s race 1:58:17, followed by Sarah Hill (2:05:34) and Danielle Strydom (2:06:40).
