The organisers of the Bestmed Cycle4Cansa Championship have announced details of various road closures in and around Sun City for the events on August 26.
The R510 between the R556 and Monakato will be closed between 6am and 12pm for the 103km and 70km races.

“This is really of immense importance as the road doesn’t have a broad shoulder,” said chief organiser Mauritz Meyer.
“We’ve always put the riders first and we are working closely with local authorities to pinpoint crucial areas and ensure we leave no stone unturned to ensure rider safety.”
He added that they had had a significant buy-in from local authorities for this year’s event, the 21st Cycle4Cansa.
The organisers are working hard to raise awareness of the road changes to ensure people avoid the particular sections on the Sunday.
“Our number once focus is on ensuring a safe passage for everyone who takes part,” said Meyer, adding that about 4 000 participants were expected for the road races alone.
The event also offers 25km and 50km mountain-bike races on the Saturday.
