Richard Simpson and Yolande de Villiers won the respective men’s and women’s race at the Swartberg 100 Gran Fondo in Prince Albert today.
Simpson finished the 170km course in a time of 6:04:51. Armandt du Randt placed second in 6:05:44, while third place went to David George after 6:11:32.

De Villiers finished the women’s race in a time of 6:22:08. Second over the line was Ischen Stopforth in 7:15:32, with Kylie Hanekom third in 7:43:30.
The men’s race in the Medio Fondo event was won by Braam Wannenburg, who finished the 55km route in 1:45:15. He was followed home by Siemon Joubert in 1:48:41 and Wayd Needham in 1:49:59.
Ashleigh Parsons won the women’s event in 1:57:40. Angie du Randt finished second after 1:57:45, with Michelle George third in 2:11:49.
