The name of the Greyt Escape mountain bike race gives you more than just a hint about what this gem in the Riviersonderend mountains is all about.
Not only does it borrow its name from the quaint Western Cape host town of Greyton, it offers three days of total escapism and boutique riding from June 15 to 17.

Any race that is located in this mountain biking haven naturally boasts fantastic routes, but the local knowledge of route director Andrew White ensures only the area’s best trails are on the menu.
With iMTB Africa’s Warrick Kemp lending a helping hand, daily distances are kept to a maximum of 64km.
That does not mean the going will be easy. With the village tucked into a natural fold, there is climbing in every direction and therefore challenging but rewarding mountain biking is guaranteed.

Race organisers Freebody-Sports have increased the offering by including an e-bike category this year.
The village is known for its chilly winter weather, but frequent visitors will tell you it is part of its allure.
Pack warm gear and brace yourself for the odd shower as you prepare for exhilarating riding during the day and red wine-fuelled laughter in the evenings.
Entries include light lunches, the option of dinner on the Friday and Saturday, a Ciovita Greyt Escape cycling jersey and a Performance Brands winter warmer.
