Shaun-Nick Bester and Andrew Hill won the 50km third stage of the Great Zuurberg Trek at the Zuurberg Pass today.
The TIB-Silverback-Best4Sport pair completed the stage in 2:18:12 and with the victory they also won the overall race. RSA Web’s Stuart Marais and Renay Groustra completed the stage second in 2:22:51, with Bike Shop-Scott-Strocam’s Aidan Connelly & Rogan Smart rounding out the podium.
Bester and Hill won with a final general classification time of 8:53:46, just over nine minutes clear of Connelly and Smart in second. Saddle and Cleats’ Jason Peach and Jason Reed rounded out the podium.

Ascendis Health-Spur’s Ariane Luthi and Robyn de Groot won the women’s category, as well as the race. They completed the stage in 2:40:17, racking up a GC time of 9:38:04. Galileo Risk’s Sarah Hill and Theresa Ralph finished second.
Silverback Bikes’ Neill Ungerer and Yolande de Villiers won the mixed team race in 2:32:39, while also winning the race title in 9:21:39. Team Garmin’s Yolandi du Toit & Ben Melt Swanepoel came home second, with Nicholas Webb & Kylie Hanekom completing the podium.
