Andrew Hill and Shaun-Nick Bester won the 71km first stage of the Great Zuurberg Trek, which took place in Sundays River Valley, Eastern Cape, today.
The TIB-Silverback-Best4sport pair completed the race in 2:46:05, beating Reinhard Zellhuber and Marc Fourie into second. Aidan Connelly and Rogan Smart rounded out the podium.
Ascendis Health-Spur’s Robyn de Groot and Ariane Luthi won the women’s category in 3:04:11, beating Theresa Ralph and Sarah Hill into second. Imke van der Westhuyzen and Jennifer Cilliers completed the podium.
Neill Ungerer and Yolande de Villiers won the mixed category in 3:00:49. Yolandi du Toit and Ben Melt Swanepoel finished second, with Lester Tait and Andrea Shirley getting home in third.
