Trek-Segafredo’s Toms Skujins won the 197km third stage of the Tour of California in Monterey County yesterday.
The Latvian completed the stage in 4:52:47, finishing three seconds clear of Hagens Berman Axeon’s Sean Bennett (USA). Mitchelton-Scott’s Caleb Ewan rounded out the podium.

DiData’s Tom-Jelte Slagter (Netherlands) finished eighth, Julien Vermote (Belgium) 62nd, Jay Thomson (South Africa) 72nd, Lachlan Morton (Australia) 86th, Mark Cavendish (Britain) 90th and Scott Davies (Britain) 102nd.
Team Sky’s Egan Bernal (Colombia) retained his race lead ahead of Bora-Hansgrohe’s Rafal Majka (Poland).
