The New Zeelander finished the 1.2km course in 24:55 ahead of Dutchman Mathiey van der Poel (24:56) and Swiss Nino Schurter (24:57).
The women’s race was won by Denmark’s Annika Langvad in 25:42. She was followed by France’s Pauline Ferrand Prevot (25:43) and Switzerland’s Jolanda Neff (25:49).
South Africa’s Mariske Strauss finished 26th in 26:40.
