Heine Engelbrecht and Julia Westoby won the men’s and women’s 60km event at the Big 5 MTB Race in Komatipoort at the weekend.
Engelbrecht’s winning time was 2:00:07, while Willem Nortier finished second in 2:00:23 and Chase Esquino third in 2:07:01.

Westoby crossed the finish line after 2:11:47 and was followed home by Lisa Slabbert, who finished in 2:16:19. Neline Hoffman Kellerman completed the podium with a time of 2:18:37.
Ivan Lourenco won the 45km race in 1:41:59, with Riaan le Roux second in 1:43:39 and Lukas Keulder third in 1:46:46.
The women’s race was won by Andrea Hattingh in 1:57:28, while Juanita Kammeyer placed second in 2:00:56 and Chante Jacobs third in 2:04:21.
