Michael Lambrecht and Nicholas Lambrecht won the opening stage of the Greyt Escape at Oak&Vigne in Greyton, Western Cape, yesterday.

They completed the 62km men’s team event in 2:34:22 to beat Grant and William Leslie (2:54:56). Third were Robert Vogel and Quentin Daniel (3:05:58).
The women’s race was won by Bonita Malherbe and Loezel Coetzee (4:34:17) ahead of Karen Bosman and Olivia Jonker (5:17:09).
Matthew Grobler and Hayley Preen (3:10:28) led the mixed category home when they beat Deon Brenner and Melanie Brenner (3:47:45). Vibeke Moore and Ron Raviv (4:14:39) completed the podium.
Craig Woods claimed the honours in solo men’s category when he finished in 2:37:06. Second and third were Karl Lambrecht (2:44:18) and Francois Bosman (2:45:17).
Ilse Viljoen (3:13:26) took the spoils in the women’s race and was followed home by Sune Henning (3:27:31) and Ann Harrison (3:30:16).
