Dawie Grobbelaar and Simone Farber won the junior races of the Schools MTB League in the first Free State event at Farm Mooifontein, Bothaville, on Saturday.
Grey College’s Grobbelaar won the men’s race in 1:00:05, beating Ficksburg’s Hendrick Bester into second. Grey College’s Evan Louw rounded out the podium.

Jim Fouche’s Farber won the women’s race in 57:32. Lichtenburg’s Hanje Nel finished second and Fichardtpark’s Jozanne Taljaard came home in third.
Grey College’s Marnus Prinsloo (1:00:41) and Sentraal’s Chante Olivier (50:05) won the boys’ and girls’ youth races respectively.
