The American finished in 04:33 ahead of Britain’s Danny Hart (04:33) and France’s Loris Vergier (04:34).
Britain’s Rachel Atherton won the women’s title in 05:07. She was followed home by France’s Myriam Nicole (05:09) and compatriot Tahnee Seagrave (05:16).
South Africa’s Johann Potgieter (04:53) finished 58th, Stefan Garlicki (04:53) 64th and Christopher Philogene (05:01) 98th.
