Waterberg MTB Encounter photos: See the weekend’s action

View photographs taken during the Liberty Waterberg MTB Encounter that took place between Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa and Elements Private Golf Reserve from June 8 to 10.

Stage one

The opening stage of the Waterberg MTB Encounter took riders on a 62km journey from Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa to Elements Private Golf Reserve.

Features on the route included quick singletrack sections, tricky climbs, and tar sections.

The stage was won by ASG Cape Duo’s HB Kruger and Regis Maniora. View the results here.

Stage two

The second stage featured a clover-leaf format with the race starting at Elements Private Golf Reserve.

Riders tackled a 51km route that featured interesting and exciting singletrack, as well as rewarding downhill sections.

ASG Cape Duo’s HB Kruger and Regis Maniora claimed their second stage win and extended their overall lead. View the results here.

Stage three

The third and final stage comprised a 59km fast and flat route back to Sondela.

Riders took on some gravel roads, small rocky climbs and tar roads, before the stage ended with a 15km stretch of fast single track.

ASG Cape Duo’s HB Kruger and Regis Maniora won their third stage in a row to claim the race title. View the results here.
